MailScanner provides two layers of spam scoring, with the lower level relabeling the message as ****POSSIBLE SPAM**** (so you may check for "false-positives," or legitimate messages which were mistakenly flagged), and the higher level automatically deleting the "definite spam".

• Use any number of Realtime Blackhole Lists (RBL's) to provide access to multiple databases of known spammers.
  
• Antivirus scanning of emails, provided by ClamAV
  
• Dictionary attack protection - drops spammers who repeatedly send email to non-existent email addresses
  
• Server-wide blacklists - if we notice a spammer who repeatedly slips under the radar, we can manually block them
  
• Anti-phishing scanning (to protect against phishing schemes which con users out of their sensitive information)

MailScanner "learns" from spammers' behavior, so over time it will become more and more effective at catching spammers, even as they change tactics.
