Backups are automatically performed nightly.  A rotating copy of one weekly and one monthly backup is retained additionally.  Backups are saved onto a second hard drive on the server, as well as remotely on a second server which is off-network in a different geographic location.

While backups are performed automatically, clients are strongly urged whenever possible to retain local copies of all of their files in the event a backup cannot be restored for whatever reason (corrupted or incomplete backup, timestamp that does not match the requested backup, and so on).  A corrupt backup is a rare situation, but it can potentially happen.

To have a file restored for your webhosting account, please submit a ticket via the Hurtdidit help desk.  The standard fee is one support incident per occurrence (regardless of number of files needing restoration).  If you need a file restored, do not hesitate to contact us--the longer you wait, the greater the chance that your original backup may be overwritten!
